6971
Astro 6971 is a Red, single-component, water-reducible silicone alkyd coating designed to protect against partial discharge and corona damage. This coating system helps prevent current leakage caused by the ionization of air surrounding high-voltage conductors, thereby extending the life of high-voltage insulation.
Astro 6971 has a long, proven track record as a topcoat on high-voltage machines and is most commonly used on air-cooled and hydrogen-cooled stator end-windings.
