Superior Protection for High Voltage Machines
Astro 5201 is a premium epoxy novolac impregnating varnish designed for high-temperature electrical applications. With a thermal index of 180°C, it delivers reliable performance in demanding environments. The material provides exceptional dielectric strength exceeding 4 kV/mil and maintains a low dissipation factor (~2%) at elevated temperatures, ensuring optimal efficiency in electrical machinery
Formulated with very low viscosity, Astro 5201 achieves complete saturation of substrates such as mica-based insulation systems, and has excellent mechanical properties. It is suitable for application by either Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) or a traditional dip-and-bake process. This single-component system requires a heat cure to fully develop its mechanical and electrical properties.
Astro 5201 is available in a small Minimum Order Quantity and multiple package sizes, ranging from 1-gallon cans to 55-gallon drums, providing flexibility for both pilot and production-scale use.
