6976
Astro 6976 is a semi-conductive, two-component epoxy coating that cures at room temperature and provides excellent thermal stability and electrostatic dissipation. It creates a durable surface finish with high chemical resistance.
Astro 6976 is used to manage electrical field gradients, minimize partial discharge, and prevent electrical tracking or corona effects that could otherwise damage electrical insulation. Typical applications include large industrial motors and utility-scale turbine generators, where it is applied to the slot portion of insulated coils or stator bars to dissipate static energy.
Key Properties
- Capable for use in up to Class F (155oC) environments
- Low-VOC, non-CMR (carcinogenic, mutagenic, toxic for reproduction)
- Two-part system for longer shelf life
- High chemical resistance
