Astro 6980 is a two-part epoxy potting and encapsulation compound formulated for high thermal resistance and to minimize physical stress on adjacent insulation materials caused by thermal expansion.
This system is frequently used to encapsulate large stator series loop connections in conventional steam and gas turbine generators, as well as in the top caps of hydro generators and other horizontal or inverted applications.
