Astro 6271 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) formulated to bond electrical insulation parts to copper. Once coated to a B-stage (uncured) its tacky finish allows operators to stick parts in place for precise positioning of Nomex® and epoxy-glass laminates between copper conductors during assembly of large generator rotors. Applied to insulation prior to assembly, it ensures parts stay securely in place to prevent shifting during the assembly process.
Compared to other B-stage adhesives such as Astro 3096 and Astro 6229, Astro 6271 offers a higher degree of tack, improving handling and placement efficiency.
Formulated for excellent high temperature (Class F) adhesion between copper and epoxy-glass laminates.
Engineered for demanding high temperature applications, Astro 6271 is formulated to impart excellent adhesion between copper and dielectric insulation such as Nomex(R) and epoxy glass laminates. Suitable for use in Class F systems with long-term operating temperatures up to 155°C.
Worker Friendly, Non-CMR formulation
Astro 6271 is designed to be operator friendly. Its formulation contains no carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic components (non-CMR), making it a safe and user-friendly material.
